|:: Application ::
Character Name: Vood÷
(Provide us with a link to your profile in the Armory) http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Kazzak/vood÷/advanced
Professions and Skill Level:
Engineering and Tailoring - Both skill level 600
What Elixirs/Flasks/Buff food do you use in raids to boost your performance?
Flask if the Warm Sun
Mogu Fish Stew (300 Intellect) or a feast/noodle cart if provided.
Describe what you think you would bring to our guild if accepted. (raiding and social aspects)
Raid-wise I'd bring a Warlock who strives to clear content at the highest possible level. Maybe not the absolute best player in the world, but someone always trying to get better and improve his play. I learn relatively quickly and don't tend to stand in stuff. I'd bring someone who doesn't rage over loot as I see loot as a means to an end - It's nice to have, but the real prize is the boss kill.
In terms of sociality, it takes me a week or two usually to get comfortable with my surroundings; I'll speak on Vent for boss encounters but I probably won't get involved with chat until I'm comfortable. I have a good sense of humour.
Mazrigos Makers - Mazrigos
Origin - Mazrigos
Progress Denied - Kazzak
Reason for Leaving:
Mazrigos Makers (2012) - I was a Mage in patch 4.3, my first REAL patch, two DPS had gone on holiday and I was invited for an Ultraxion kill in 10N Dragon Soul. One of the DPS re-rolled when they came back and I was kept as a core raider. Eventually we cleared 8/8N and were about to begin progressing on Heroic Morchok. One of the Guild Master/ Raid Leader's friends had just returned to WoW but he got taken for the kill instead of me, I asked the GM and he couldn't give me an honest answer. Just a "Well, you know, I've known him for a while" I decided to let it go. It took us a month to kill Morchok Heroic because every reset we'd go in have 3 pulls and then the GM would set it to normal because he thought people were getting "burnt out". This same attitude on Ultraxion combined with a generally bad raid group (me included at the time, I wasn't horrible but I wasn't great) meant it also took a long time to kill. The Raid Leader had a tantrum because we told him we weren't going to progress with 3-4 pulls on a HC boss per reset, randomly kicking people from the guild and saying he was going to disband. Eventually he just quit raiding, we got a pug DPS in, elected a new Raid Leader and killed Ultraxion within 8-9 attempts. After this people started leaving. The team had lost 4 of it's best players including two healers and two DPS, the Raid Leader didn't want to recruit and so I left. Couldn't put up with his shit anymore.
Origin - I joined them at the end op patch 4.3 and cleared 7/8 Heroic with them (albeit with a 25-35% nerf) acting as a substitute whilst one of their raiders was on holiday. I was fine with missing out on the Madness kill, I joined the guild as a social. Mists of Pandaria came and I was asked to raid with their "team 2" It was bad, I didn't make it better as I was bad as well at the time. I didn't know what burst was, the only profession I had maxed out was mining, I was using Cataclysm flasks and potions, if any potion at all, I refused to do dailies for gear and coins etc. We managed to clear 5/6N Mogu'Shan Vaults and 1/6N Heart of Fear by the end of patch 5.1. I took a short break from December to February. When I came back I got my Elegon kill and the team disbanded. I saw Mazrigos Makers had improved massively and were in need of a DPS so I applied.
Mazrigos Makers (2013 - Patch 5.2-5.4) - I joined them, still as a Mage. I was fairly bad but I progressively got better under the guidance of a Warrior who went on to be a great friend. He taught me what burst was, how to use Simcraft, how to use Reforge Lite among many other things. Eventually I improved. A lot. We cleared 1/13 Heroic, with me as a Mage and then the Warrior decided to leave and join a 25HC progress guild. About a month before patch 5.4 I re-rolled Warlock at the request of the Raid Leader, since we had two Mages. I was relieved, Warlock had been my favourite class ever since I had levelled one. I learned quickly, clearing 2/13 Heroic ToT. Re-rolling Warlock was the first time I had felt really excited about something in WoW. I learned and practiced as much as I could spamming LFRs, doing dailies for coins and optimizing my gear as best I could. I lacked everything from the legendary questline and was about 14 item levels below the rest of our team but my DPS was still competitive. I had come a long way from 5.1, I started to realise I was being held back. Our team consisted of a Mage who refused to play anything but Arcane saying she "Couldn't play anything else, they're just too hard" a Hunter Raid Leader who clicked all of his abilities and also couldn't play anything but Survival, a Ret Paladin who stood in everything imaginable and cared more about his DPS than the group killing the boss and a DK tank who refused to flask for anything because he "didn't need it, it was a waste of gold" Our schedule had increased severely, going from 3 days a week 4 hours a night to 6 days a week with an extra 7th raid if people were online 5 hours a night. The Guild Master started having tantrums again demanding that we start raids 2 hours earlier and raging at people who were technically an hour and 58 minutes early but he saw as 2 minutes late. I had my gear now, I was as geared as the rest of the group. I decided to push myself even further and got asked to join Progress Denied on Kazzak...
Progress Denied (Kazzak) - Mazrigos Makers had only cleared 13/14N so I was surprised Progress Denied asked me to join them, being 6/14H at the time. I loved it, we cleared 11/14H but now things are slipping, we have a Shadow Priest who (not counting the two week Christmas break) hadn't turned up to a raid in 3 weeks, our Hunter just left, Shaman healer doesn't know when he's going to have access to a computer again and we aren't getting any decent applications. Even one person who wanted to raid with us on his 525 Monk alt who hadn't even started the legendary quest. We don't have enough people for a raid anymore, I really don't think this guild will survive the transition to Mythic 20M in Warlords of Draenor so I decided to leave and try something new: 25M Heroic.
When did you start this character and how long have you /played?
I started my Warlock around June/July 2012 as an alt. Barely played it in Mists of Pandaria until I re-rolled.
Total: is 60 days 14 hours 0 minutes 47 seconds
This level: 51 days 2 hours 24 minutes 7 seconds
For that character, across all my characters I have about 180 days played.
What encounters and raids have you experienced in Mists of Pandaria? Please state if it was on 10man or 25man and was it normal or heroic

What previous raid experience (Vanilla, TBC, WoLK, Cata) do you have on this char? Please only mention stuff you did at the time when it was a current raid, we dont need to know you can clear black temple when you are level 90.
On this character, 8/8 Normal and 2/8 HC 25M (Mostly Openraid pugs with a 25-35% nerf)
What do you think YOUR responsibilities are in a raid? :
Give a original answer here, saying to buff and dps/heal/tank isn't really worth mentioning
My role in the raid is to execute the mechanics of the fight properly, provide Healthstones, Demonic Gateways, and a Soulstone, all whilst dealing as much damage as possible to the appropriate targets
What is your Spell Rotation/Priority ?
Destruction: Chaos Bolt at or above 3.5 Burning Embers/ when buffs such as Dark Soul/trinkets/encounter specific buffs are up ( Replace with Shadowburn below 20%)
Immolate - Maintain at all times on current target
Conflagrate - Use on cooldown for Backdraft stacks
Incinerate - Filler for building Embers
Fel Flame - Use when moving if Kil'jaendan's Cunning isn't picked as a tier 6 talent
Affliction: Agony - Maintain at all times to stop the 10 stack from falling off
Corruption - Maintain at all times as it provides Nightfall procs
Unstable Affliction - Maintain at all times. Procs t16 2 piece
bonus and deals damage.
Haunt with buffed dots, 4 soul shards and less than >2
seconds remaining on the debuff. Except for 4 soul shards,
then Haunt to prevent wasted Nightfall procs.
Malefic Grasp (Replaced by Drain Soul below 20%)
Fel Flame when moving if the Kil'jaedan's Cunning talent isn't
For both specs: Curse of the Elements becomes top priority if there isn't a Rogue/other class passively providing the debuff.
Why have you chosen to reforge, gem and enchant the way you have? Give a brief description on why particular stats are good for your class/spec.
I gem, reforge, enchant the way I do because I try to maximize mastery whilst also meeting my 10124 Immolate haste breakpoint for Destruction. I prioritize mastery because mastery is a flat damage increase for all specs making it great for both single target and AoE, haste vs crit is debatable but mostly down to preference. haste is better for AoE and the difference between the two for single target is within margin of error, so with a lot of fights in Siege of Orgrimmar featuring AoE I decided haste would be the best option for my second stat. Haste as my second stat also allows me to passively reach the 10124 Immolate breakpoint and 9778 Agony breakpoint for Affliction. Haste as my second stat also means I can switch to my Affliction spec mid raid with no downsides since the stat priority is the same.
Mastery - Increases the damage of dots for Affliction.
Increases the damage of Ember generators for Destruction as
well as the potency of Ember consumers by 3x that amount.
Haste - Increases the frequency of dot ticks and Malefic Grasp/Drain Soul
ticks for Affliction as well as providing extra ticks at certain
Cast faster and increases mana regen as Destruction, generating
Embers faster. Can't have too much though or you'll get GCD
capped with haste buffs.
Critical Stike - Increases the damage of Chaos Bolt and also generates
more Embers since critting generates an extra ember.
I gem exp/mastery for orange gems because I don't have much hit on my gear, so rather than reforge to it at the cost of mastery, I gem it with mastery so I can reach hit cap and still reforge mastery. This maximizes the amount of mastery I have.
Also Post a UI Screen Shot (this is so we know how you see what's around you)
Provide a relevant World of Logs report from your past guild/raid. Not being able to provide this can be detrimental to your application. If you do not have any relevant logs, please run an LFR and log that, we are not looking at your damage, more so your buff up-times etc.
Please ignore the log from January, I hadn't played my Warlock seriously in about a week, had just reinstalled my PC so my UI was messed up and was generally having a very bad night.
Do you have oRA3 Deadly Boss Mods and OMEN ?
(Please don't apply until you have)
I prefer Bigwigs to DBM but if it's absolutely necessary I can install it. I have OMEN installed but I've never had threat problems so I just turned it off. I'll enable it Didn't when i took the UI picture, but now I have oRA3.
Please list any other add ons you use to help you raid.
Pitbull Unit Frames
Bigwigs Boss Mods
Mik's Scrolling Combat Text
Do you have a microphone & Ventrilo installed?
Describe your skills in spoken English:
I've lived in England all my life. I can speak English fluently with no problems.

Generally gets a minimum of 30 FPS in raids which is perfectly playable and personally I don't see a difference between 30 and 60. Only time I've seen it go below that is Iron Qon 25m where it went to 20 FPS but even then it was perfectly playable and surprisingly still smooth.
Why did you choose to apply to this guild in particular?
Well WoW is one of the very few games I play, if I'm going to play it I want to get the greatest challenge I can out of it. I found that the best way to do this would be to raid 25 Man Heroic. When I look for a guild stability is key and Cerebral seems to be very stable, whilst also having an enjoyable atmosphere.
Players you know / How did you come across us?
I was looking for 25M Heroic guilds on Kazzak using WoWProgress. It was a choice between Cerebral and No Remorse, so I decided to aim high and go for Cerebral.
Alts and Level (if any):
V÷odru level 44 Druid
Mazrigos- Mage level 90
Monk level 90
Paladin level 90
Death Knight level 88
Moving them to Kazzak Horde as soon as I have the money.
Are you or any of your alts currently guilded?:
I'm still currently in Progress Denied, I've decided to stay until I get accepted into a guild because I like the people and don't want to leave, get declined and end up guild-less.
Did you read our Rules & Policies?
What days can you play and what hours during those days (Please let us know now so no confusion is caused if you were to be accepted)?:
(Members are required to be available for raiding at least 3/4 nights week with higher attendance preferred.) Raid days are Wed Thurs Sun Mon. 2000-0000 server time we do occasionally stay later if we are close to a kill. Fri & Sat are off nights but if people are online we try to do alt runs or RBG's.
I play basically every day. During school terms usually 1630-0000/0100 UK time.
During holidays I play 1230- about 0500 UK time.
Previous online gaming experience (if any):
I played SWTOR and Rift.
Anything else you'd like to include about yourself:
Battletag is Warlock#2192
Or just whisper me in-game since we're on the same server.
I ask that you don't judge me based on my age. 14 is young yes, but I guarantee you I'm as mature as any adult you'll find. Think of it this way, you aren't going to a strip club with me, you're playing a game with me. I don't get "parent aggro" so don't worry about that. Treat me as you would any other player.
EDIT: Things with Progress Denied have resolved themselves. I've decided to put my application on hold and stick with them until we kill Garrosh Heroic at least. If you're still looking for a Warlock when we do, let me know. Sorry for having wasted your time.
