Describe what you think you would bring to our guild if accepted. (raiding and social aspects)

I do suffer from Road Rage a lot... I've been told it's f**king hilarious to witness. I could get someone to film these outbursts and post them to youtube in kind of a weekly show sort of thing. Failing that I can get naked and dance in Org for gold.

I am a focused and dedicated raider. I will always bring my A-game and will always stay up to date with my class. I am generally laid back and somewhat approachable. I often found myself on vent outside of raid times chatting with my ex-guildies.

So in short, I can bring the attitude of a skillful raider and a friendly personality in and out of raids.

Previous Guilds:
Reason for Leaving:

(Hope you don't mind me combing the two!)

Late ICC - Late Firelands
Manic Monday - Darkspear EU
This is the first guild I consider my first proper guild. I raided roughly 2 tiers with these guys. Early into Firelands, the core leadership (the leader and 2 officers were 2 IRL friends from Italy), decided they no longer had the time to dedicate to WoW. The leadership was handed over to the next most senior member of the guild, but performance and progression dropped. After gritting my teeth and telling myself it will get batter for the better part of 2-3 heroic kills that took 2-3 times the ammount of wipes they should, I decided it was time to look for something more stable. Don't get me wrong, I don't want this to reflect on me that I will bolt at the first sign of trouble. I essentially carried a lot of members through farm kills, picking up slack on easy tactics and always topping meters by a considerable ammount. This lasted for about 5 months. At this point the guild was 3/7HC kills although we hadn't killed Rhyolith or Alysrazor in weeks. I was sure I was capable of atleast 6/7HC, so I said my tearful good byes (it was a lovely guild with great people, I never held anything against them) and moved on up, bringing me to my next point.

Late Firelands - Early Pandaria 5.1
Bandwidth - Darkspear EU
A great guild, very friendly atmosphere, I'm sad to see the guild go really. I have met a lot of life long friends here who I have met up with in person. Due to lack of attendance by a few raid members, the guild was unable to progress with HM kills. Some players decided this was time to quit the game, others moved guilds to carry on progression. Having been re-built once before already, which was a stressful time (I was there, mid DarginSole), the GM decided to pack up shop and move elsewhere.

Present
I'm currently on Draenor in a social guild called Limbo (mostly using them for guild perks, but shh! don't tell no one). I moved here... I'm not quite sure why I moved here. A friend from Bandwidth moved to Draenor first and told me it was a great server with lots of potential guilds, at the moment I'm seeing about as much potential as in an over 50's bar.

When did you start this character and how long have you /played?

Around Winter 2009, 94 Days, 19 Hours, 42 Minutes, 23 Seconds... God I need to get out more!

What encounters and raids have you experienced in Mists of Pandaria? Please state if it was on 10man or 25man and was it normal or heroic

I have played Prot Pala throughout Mists

MSV 6/6HC 10man
HoF 1/6HC 10man (multiple 1% wipes on Garalon HC, if that counts for anything)
ToES 4/4norm 10man (Protectors on Elite)

What previous raid experience (Vanilla, TBC, WoLK, Cata) do you have on this char? Please only mention stuff you did at the time when it was a current raid, we dont need to know you can clear black temple when you are level 90.

T7 - Full Clear (Hunter)
T8 - Absent
T9 - Absent
T10 - 6/12 normal (Pro right!) (Holy Pala)
T11 - 3/13HC (Holy Pala)
T12 - 6/7HC (Blood/Frost DK)
T13 - 8/8HC (Resto/Balance Druid) 6/8HC (Holy Pala)
T14 - 7/16HC (Prot Pala)

What do you think YOUR responsibilities are in a raid? :
Give a original answer here, saying to buff and dps/heal/tank isn't really worth mentioning

Paladin Healers, endgame wise, were always (and still are to most extents) cut into a niece of Tank healing. We have come a long way from the ICC days where we did nothing else but spam our tanks. We now have a much wider range of tools in our arsenal to help with raid survival and healing. But at heart we still very much excel at tank healing.

Also, with an arsenal of huge damage mitigating/reducing cooldowns, freedom from slows/snares and decent mobility, the Paladin can bring so much more utility to a raid than just "to heal".

What is your Spell Rotation ?

Returning to healing in T14, I have found that a new technique for healing as a Paladin (mostly coined through the use of our 4 piece PVP and PVE sets) is being developed and very much used by all the top ranking palas. The technique, known as Eternal Flame Blanketing, involves taking the tier 3 talent Eternal Flame (hence forth know as EF, which replaces Word of Glory and gives it a HoT component), and using combinations of 1,2 and 3 holy power EF to cover as many raid members as possible with, whilst avoiding just overhealing full targets. With Beacon of Light placed on the MT (or target of choice), this method not only offers a fairly powerful HoT covering a good portion of the raid, but the HoT also generate a nice buffer absorb thanks to hPala mastery (obviously not quite a Disc Priest with Spirit Shell) aswell as a constant stream of ticks being copied to the beacon target. This stream alone isn't enough to keep up a tank taking boss damage. But the GCDs between the Holy Shock Cooldown, are used to either top the tank up with Holy Light/Divine Light (Divine Light further generating more Holy Power, thanks to Tower of Radiance, meaning another EF to blanket with) or if raid damage is high, this gap should be filled with a Holy Radiance, if the group is stacked.

I am still getting fully to grips with this style. As I mentioned above, EJ lack a hPala section this tier, so I am using the power of Google and some less obvious sources to find this info. My main source of research for this technique has been the log and expression browser within WoL.

Why have you chosen to reforge, gem and enchant the way you have? Give a brief description on why particular stats are good for your class/spec.

Gear wise, at the moment I am using the best gear I have Sad like I said I have been playing Prot, that being said I feel I have picked up a fairly decent set of (at the time) off-off-spec gear. I gem heavily to spirit to allow for more modest mana returns. I try, if possible to have spirit on gear by default which means for reforging and enchanting I follow the herd of paladin healers and use Mastery. Mastery and Haste are very close in most logs and simulations. Haste is less viable for me at the moment because through increasing my throughput, it also OOMs me faster. Mastery also help cull overhealing somewhat, as an absorb is never overhealed.

I am currently toying with the idea of using 4 piece PVP set armor, atleast until I can get a hold of 4 piece PVE bonus. Both PVE and PVP set bonuses increase over holy power generation by a considerable amount, meaning more EF blanketing! Whilst the PVP gear means I take a hit to stats, people are reporting gains of up to 20k hps from taking a hit to iLVL and using the PVP 4 piece. The 4 piece PVE set bonus is about the same and once I acquire 497ilvl Tier Gear I would use this over the PVP gear.

Also Post a UI Screen Shot (this is so we know how you see what's around you)

Post a World of Logs report from your past guild or a 3 minute DPS report on the training dummies:

I have contacted Didior and Xtxt in game regarding this. As I mentioned above I have been playing Prot for T14, so I don't have any holy logs to show you.

*seeing this will greatly help your app, if you have issues getting these reports please speak to a guild officer in game

Technical Information
-----------------------------------

Do you have oRA3 Deadly Boss Mods and OMEN ?
(Please don't apply until you have)

Have all, just need to re-enable oRA3

Please list any other add ons you use to help you raid.

I use ElvUi as a full UI replacement, including UnitFrames for healing.

Do you have a microphone & Ventrilo installed?

Yes & yes

Describe your skills in spoken English:

Interesting question, not really sure how to answer this one. I am born and raised in the United Kingdom, so I am a native speaker. I consider myself to be fairly articulate and eloquent (no those aren't bosses from 5.2!)

What's your connection & computer hardware?

50MB Virgin Media Connection (10-30Mbps Down, 2.41Mbps Up), good connection, the occasional bottleneck, but rarely DCs or Drop outs. 2.5gHZ AMD Dual Core Processor, 8GB Ram, AMD Radeon HD 7700 GPU. I use a Razer Nostromo and Naga for playing WoW.

-----------------------------------
General Information
-----------------------------------

Age: 22

Country: United Kingdom

Why did you choose to apply to this guild in particular?

I could create some fabulous lie here, about how I've followed you for 5.5 years, and been your biggest fan! But I won't insult your collective intelligences.

One word... Loot

No...J/k... Progression. You have a similar sort of progression to my previous guild, and I don't want to step backwards in terms of that. However I decided I fancied a change and want to try 25 man raiding, which there are actually very few 25 mans guilds on your level, making it an easy choice.

Players you know / How did you come across us?

Spoken to Xtxt, Didior and Crabby a little, but to no great length. Other than that no. I found you through WoWProgress.

Alts and Level (if any):

http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/darkspear/Dist/advanced

Are you or any of your alts currently guilded?:

[i]Yes, but the guild is no longer active.

Did you read our Rules & Policies?

I have my first aid at 600, but my cata head enchants don't work any more :/

What days can you play and what hours during those days (Please let us know now so no confusion is caused if you were to be accepted)?:
(Members are required to be available for raiding at least 3/5 nights week with higher attendance preferred.) Raid days are Sun-Thur, 2000-0000 server time we do occasionally stay later if we are close to a kill. Fri & Sat are off nights but if people are online we try to do alt runs or RBG's.

Sun-Thur, 2000-0000 is no problem for me.

Previous online gaming experience (if any):

Had an Xbox live account since they first came out (Talking the bulky Xbox, not 360). Used to play a lot of Quake2 on Gamespy, Counterstrike and Half-Life once they moved to Steam. Once I discovered WoW, that was pretty much it. Still play some xbox360, and the occasional bit of Rift!

Anything else you'd like to include about yourself:

John Minns, 22from the UK. I am a developer/project manager for a web design and marketing company.

I have recently graduated from University with a degree in 3D Animation & Special Effects. My dream job (and future career) is to do Visual Effects for Hollywood films. The skills university taught me means I can go one step further than just offering you and awesome raider and kick ass web developer. I can also potentially make animated shorted, motion graphics pieces, video stings and video editing for the guild.

My portfolio can be found here http://www.john-o-gram.co.uk

Outside of work and WoW, I enjoy socializing, drinking (although not at the moment, on health kick paying a Personal Trainer £200 a month to kick my ass). I play Guitar, and also a little Drums (ain't touched these in a while). I have a very eclectic taste in music, from Heavy & Symphonic Metal through to Rock through to House & Trance through to Rap & R'n'B.

Hey there! Iaint no officer jus a fellow healadin..

I checked your gear first and thought straight away its offspec, and so it is! id change your chest enchant to 200spirit since its pretty much the best stat for you atm.. maybe change leg red socket to intel -mastery to get that socket bonus its decent 200intel + 160mast s 320 spirit..

Grind some justice points and upgrade that nasty weapon :p

Its a very mish mash set up you have at the minute which makes it hard to optimize i guess. As for the PvP set, it got nerfed a bit recently and will get nerfed again next patch so if i was you id concentrate getting the pve set and learning how to heal with it as the FoTM pvp shit wont be used.

I like your app, the gears a bit wank but easily improved..

GL

edit: forgot to mention glyphs.. scratch that DP one for FoL or something since we'l be focusing heroics, and get protector of the innocent, if your using the blanket style it will help alot.
