A long story short…First I must say that I recently moved from and a very good and friendly guild “Brilliance” on Neptulon (Alliance) to Tarren Mill and joined a fail Horde guild called Fallout.
A wow-friend called Tready (currently on this server) bragged me to come over to Tarren Mil and join his guild. He was an Officer in a promising Alliance guild “The Dark Templars” on Neptulon. They moved to Tarren Mill to mege with “Fallout”. and he and his former GM wanted me to join them. I moved there and it turned out that they didn’t even mention me to GM in Fallout. After some talking I was accepted there and I told them about my vacation I planned long time ago was coming up. No problem with that, but when I came home my friend “Tready”was gone and the guild was almost disbanded and now here I am thru my friend from “Brilliance” “Shroomzy” .
In Brilliance we cleared all 5.1 raids on normal and some of them in Heroic mode (I myself did one HC because rotations and the fact that our GM was a Mage).

Here some of my History in WOW: I started playing WoW when TBC was released. Started to raid seriously when WOLK came out to the market. I always played as Mage and never tried to raid with anything else. So you can say that I have a lot of experience of everything concerning the Mage class. I have been in many Raiding guilds in all those years I have played WoW, but some some stopped playing, some disbanded and the next last one before “Brilliance”was“Blackout INC” A fantastic guild with great players and very good progress in Cata. 8/8 HC Dragon Soul for example. I was equipped with BiS gear in every slot plus ofc my favorite weapon Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest. For some reason good people started to leave the guild and we (Me, GM, and other officers/raiders) tried to recruit some players, but we never got that pro group that we was before. People failed on easy things and more player left, so when MoP hitted the market we had a broken guild, soon after that it was disbanded.
So you can say I had a bit of unluckiness in MoP.

5.2 Raids, no experience at all

What previous raid experience (Vanilla, TBC, WoLK, Cata) do you have on this char? Please only mention stuff you did at the time when it was a current raid, we dont need to know you can clear black temple when you are level 90. My previous raiding experience, Vanilla, TBC, Wrath, Cata & Mop: Vanilla = none, TBC = not much, maybe Kara, WOLK = ALL Raids and ALL on HC, Cata = All on normal, FL = HC xept Raggy, DS = ALL HC

What do you think YOUR responsibilities are in a raid? :
Give a original answer here, saying to buff and dps/heal/tank isn't really worth mentioning
I think to focus/ practice/ learn the fight and survive is the single most important thing, standing in right place and do the things you are assigned to etc.
If you do things right the DPS eventually will come.
(ofc. the mandatory things: Show up on time, Prepared with: flask, food and prepot things)

What is your Spell Rotation ? That have changed a lot for us Mages in 5.2.
As Fire: Little about how I start an encounter: When starting an encounter, I hope there is a countdown... First Evocation to get the buff, then I use following sequence fast (if no hero is used in start): Prepot potion (hero if start with hero) (and CD trinket If have one), Mirror, LB, PoM, Altertime, Pyro, Comb, Inferno. This way u get an xtra PoM with Altertime. Then I use FB or FFB until heating up procs then Inferno to get the Pyroblast or Pyro if hotsteak procs, and the most important to always keep the DoTs up on target, Evocate when I have 6-7 sec left on the buff. (and so on and so on).
As Arcane (not valid until endgame 5.2 bis gears are equipped)
When the time comes for Arcane in endgame 5.2 bis gears I think it will be at start AB x 3 stacks > then use Missiles when proc and release the stack with Barrage.
When Arcane is going to be valid again, I’m going to do extensive testing to get the optimal rotation.
I used the following optimal 5.1 rotation (not valid anymore.)
In 5.1 I did the following rotation but this isn’t possible anymore:
As Arcane 6-Charge camping using Scorch The 5.1 mana cost adjustment allowed for me to stay indefinitely at 6 Arcane Charges using the very cheap Scorch spell to fish for Missiles procs. This places heavy emphasis on Blast and Missiles. When at 6 Charges, cast Blast after every spell except another Blast, use Missiles every time they proc, use Scorch after Blast if you don't have anything else to cast. Example: Blast - Missiles - Blast - Nether Tempest - Blast - Scorch - Blast - Missiles - Blast - Rune of Power - Nether Tempest - Blast - Scorch - Blast - Scorch - Missiles...
As Frost: How I start an encounter: I hope again there is a countdown... First Evocation to get the buff, then I use following sequence fast (if no hero is used in start): Prepot potion (hero if start with hero) (and CD trinket If have one), Mirror, NT, Altertime, 3xFrosbolt, pop frozen orb (every time on CD), Fof proc = Icalance, Brain Freeze proc = FFB, keep 3 stacks debuff on Frosbolt and us it for filler when nothing else procs, NT, then evocation..etc etc

Why have you chosen to reforge, gem and enchant the way you have? Give a brief description on why particular stats are good for your class/spec.
It depends on what specc u have:
Frost stat prio is: Intellect > hit/expertise to cap> haste > crit to 28% > mastery > more crit
gems: r= 160int, y=80i/160hast, b=80i/160hit, meta allways= 216 int and +3% dam/crit
Armour: Frost Armour
Fire stat prio is: hit/expertise to cap > crit > Intellect > haste to 3056> haste > last mastery >
gems: r= 320crit, y=320crit, b=160crit/160hit, meta allways= 216 int and +3% dam/crit
Armour: Molten Armour
Arcane stat prio is: hit/expertise to cap > mastery > Intellect > haste > last crit >
gems: r= 320mast, y=320mast, b=160mast/160hit, meta allways= 216 int and +3% dam/crit

I think “Shroomzy” have a valid VoL on my performance otherwise same as above but that was b4 NERF

Beside from the mandatory addons (DBM, Omen, etc) I have some Mage Addons sutch as: Mage Nuggets, Comb helper, Decursive and Mage manabar. I have Omnicc and Quartz for procs and CDs, Scoricho2 for debuffs on multiple mobs combined with Tidy plates, Grid and Shadow unit frames for UF. Rest is just cosmetic and beside that I have the standard WOW UI.

(Members are required to be available for raiding at least 3/5 nights week with higher attendance preferred.) Raid days are Sun-Thur, 2000-0000 server time we do occasionally stay later if we are close to a kill. Fri & Sat are off nights but if people are online we try to do alt runs or RBG's.

well from what you said i got the impression that you know your class.
just on a side note, you said that red gem on fire is 320crit, actually it should be opotent gem (crit and hit), but i think that you miswrote it =P
also for frost the soft crit cap is 25%, cause shatter doubles your crit plus 50%. (25*2)+50=100, and not the 28% you said =p

now on your armory, you're speced frost and gemed frost and all..
tbh from what i can see you should gem frost right as fire for the soft crit cap tbh and then do the reforges for haste. the extra crit you got on gear can go for haste and all..
also the pure intelect gems are pretty useless this xpac. since they only give 160int, which is the same amount the secondary stat gems give. so its rly better go always for the secondary stat gems.

also i think that if you can get between 33 to 35% crit self buffed fire will be superior to frost on raids. so you could reforge and regem to check if you can geat that crit with your gear.

also on your fire spec dont go for living bomb, choose always nether tempest. it scales better with haste =p

other than that i dont see nothing wrong, you dont have much experience in hc the last tier but you had a good amount of end game expericience the previous xpac...

Hello and thanks for applying to Cerebral.

First thing is first, I really need to see some logs for you, be it from LFR or from a PuG run of either ToT or T14. Having logs lets me see whether you're keeping DoTs up, using cool-downs correctly etc.

First off, I presume your main spec is frost as that's how you're currently gemmed and reforged, which is absolutely fine as until your gear increases exponentially fire is going to feel terrible to play, generally speaking the iLevel you want to be switching at is anywhere after 510+ however it is somewhat personal preference.

The whole skill behind playing a mage at the moment is based around 3 things: 1. RNG. 2. Adapting to DPS whilst moving 3. Managing Alter Time.

When you stated how you were going to open for Frost and Fire you never mentioned really how you would manage Alter Time fully and that's the secret to getting a good opener.

For example, as Frost you are going to let Alter Time run the full 6s duration, effectively prolonging any buffs you have at the time by a further 6s thus you NEED to wait for them to proc before using it or you risk them procing during the Alter Time and them going to waste when it expires. As Frost you should also wait until you have AT LEAST either (1 FoF & Brain Freeze) or (2 FoF) before using it, you are guaranteed a FoF at the start of an encounter by using Frozen Orb and unless you get terrible RNG you should be able to get another before your trinkets get <6s left on them. And as you don't have the Light of the Cosmos trinket playing with Frost Bomb is completely acceptable as it does smooth out the RNG a little with the guaranteed Brain Freeze proc, albeit doesn't sim quite as high as Nether Tempest due to how well it scales with haste.

As fire, you will NOT let Alter Time run it's duration. The fundamentals behind the fire opener relies on your getting 4+ Pyros off in quick succession to built a decent ignite, then popping Combustion. Simply: Get a Pyro Proc, PoM, (Press "GG" Macro), Pyro until Empty, Cancel Alter Time, Pyro until Empty, Combustion.

also if you're going to stay fire now, try to use come off pieces in your gear so you wont have the 4piece set bonus from tier. it sucks for fire cause it'll fuck your CD allignement from PoM and Combo..

Two things:

I downloaded a addon called "Guild Raid combat logger (World of Logs) to log a fight...dunno if it will work thugh...I suppose u need a Word of Logs account and u need to b in a guild?!

I checke what u wrote:

m8 uninstall that addon xD its unneeded.

simply make an account on www.worldoflogs.com.

then you get the option to either join a guild or make one...

so what you should do is make a personal guild on kazzak like i did (nichtalf's army).

Then go back to the worldoflogs homepage... click on client and it will download a java file. simply run that file sync your account with it.
after that you get a window with 3 big buttons having 3 options.
1) open a file (don't do this) 2) open the wow log(neither this one) 3) start a live report (click on this)

now go in game and simply type in the command /combatlog.

now you are logging. just do an lfr or some time on a dummie.

after that do /combatlog again... this will stop the logging.

now go back to worldoflogs.com and bam magically you have now an uploaded combatlog under your guild.

btw... i'm not a 100% sure this always happens but there is a possiblity that the worldoflogs client is going to ask for the location where your combatlogs are... simply go to the place your hard drive where your wowfiles are and then click on the map logs.

if this aint working just ask me in game and ill make a logg for ya.
